About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Carpenter to join our team at Connect2Luton, a recruitment managed service for all contingent temporary agency, contract, and interim roles at Luton Borough Council.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out a comprehensive range of carpentry repairs, UPVC repairs, and multi-trade refurbishment project work across various sectors.
  • Undertake project work including multi-skilled activities related to kitchen/bathroom installations, including floor laying and tiling, and on occasion minor demolition work.
  • Manage and maintain stock levels, ensuring accurate update of back office systems and timely replenishment.
  • Ensure work is carried out in accordance with Health & Safety legislation and that the work site is kept clean, tidy, and secure.
  • Meet contract programmes/production targets, checking work in progress to ensure it meets the contract quality standard requirements.
Requirements
  • Demonstrable experience of working with Schedule of Rates and to specifications, including working from drawings.
  • Able to plan and prioritise workloads to meet specified outputs and deadlines.
  • Able to use own initiative within established procedures and good working practice.
  • Able to assess and address problems arising on-site, including diagnosis of faults and problems, type of materials required, equipment required to carry out the work, and safe working assessments.
  • Advanced carpentry apprenticeship to NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification and experience.
