**National Clinical Lead – Midwifery**

As a key member of the Medical and Safety Directorate within NHS National Services Scotland, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced National Clinical Lead for Midwifery to join our team.

  • Provide expert clinical guidance and support to the SPSP Perinatal Programme and other quality improvement initiatives.
  • Offer strategic leadership and expertise to teams participating in the collaborative, driving evidence-based interventions for perinatal services.
  • Contribute to the improvement of experience and outcomes for women, birthing people, babies, and families across Scotland.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead improvement initiatives within perinatal services, identifying opportunities for growth and development.
  • Provide visible support and guidance to teams participating in the collaborative, fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence.
  • Identify and capitalize on connections and opportunities created by system-wide working, driving positive change and improvement.

Requirements:

  • Active midwifery registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council.
  • Education to Masters level (or equivalent experience).
  • Strong interpersonal, networking, and influencing skills, with the ability to build effective relationships and drive results.

This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to the SPSP Perinatal Programme and drive improvement that directly impacts experience and outcomes for women, birthing people, babies, and families across Scotland.
