Job Title: Transport Planner

Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Transport Planner to join our team at Streamline Search. As a Transport Planner, you will be responsible for planning and scheduling routes for our fleet of vehicles, ensuring compliance with driver hours and working time regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and schedule routes for a fleet of vehicles, covering both general haulage and pallet network deliveries.
  • Manage driver allocations and ensure that routes are optimised for cost-effectiveness, compliance, and on-time performance.
  • Monitor live operations to address any issues that arise and implement contingency plans to minimise delays.
  • Liaise with customers and warehouse teams to coordinate loading times and delivery requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with driver hours, working time regulations, and all relevant legal requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records of all transport activities, including vehicle maintenance schedules, driver logs, and delivery documentation.
  • Utilise transport planning software to optimise routes and increase fleet efficiency.
  • Provide excellent communication and support to drivers, ensuring they have the information needed to complete their routes successfully.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with customers, resolving any queries or concerns in a professional and timely manner.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of operational improvements to streamline processes and increase productivity.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in transport planning within the general haulage and/or pallet network sector.
  • Strong geographical knowledge of the UK road network.
  • Experience using transport management software and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to work flexibly across early and late shifts as required.
  • Strong understanding of compliance and health & safety regulations within the transport industry.
  • Experience in building positive relationships with customers and internal teams.
