About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated individual to join our team as a Speech and Language Therapy Apprentice. As a key member of our Physical Health AHP team, you will work closely with our experienced speech and language therapists to provide client-centred speech and language therapy to individuals with complex needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work under the supervision of a qualified speech and language therapist to provide speech and language therapy to a defined caseload of service users.
  • Support the speech and language therapist in the implementation of intervention plans to help clients maintain and regain independence in functional abilities.
  • Complete the speech and language therapy degree level 6 apprenticeship and gain full registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) on qualifying.

Requirements

  • GCSE or equivalent: Minimum 5 GCSEs graded 9-4 / A*- C including English Language and Mathematics, or specified equivalents.
  • Recent level 3 academic qualification, some examples include;
  • A-level: ABB (Excludes General Studies)
  • BTEC: DDD in a Health & Social Care related diploma
  • Previous experience in a relevant health or social care setting.
  • Awareness of the impact of poor health on overall well-being.
  • Awareness of the positive impact of activity on health and well-being
  • A basic understanding of the role of speech and language therapy and the core philosophy of the profession
  • IT literacy.
