Role Overview:
This position is based within our organization and will involve travel within the designated area. As a Y&C Support Advocate, your responsibilities will include:
- Efficiently managing a caseload of self-referrals or referred individuals, providing outstanding services that align with the goals of our commissioners and support victims.
- Ensuring that each victim receives personalized support and information tailored to their unique needs, with a focus on addressing complex requirements throughout all processes.
- Conducting risk and needs assessments to meet the specific needs of clients in accordance with our operational procedures, while adhering to relevant safeguarding policies and collaborating with safeguarding leads and other organizations.
- Offering information and advocacy to assist service users in navigating and comprehending the criminal justice system, ensuring their rights are upheld in line with established guidelines.
Essential Qualifications:
- Understanding of the challenges faced by children and young people who experience adversity or crime
- Knowledge of confidentiality and safe working practices, in compliance with safeguarding and data protection regulations
- Proven experience working with children or young people, or with individuals affected by domestic abuse
- Strong communication skills with the ability to adapt style and approach to suit diverse audiences
- Capacity to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage competing demands in an organized manner
- Proficient IT and administrative skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office applications
- High level of resilience and capability to perform under pressure
