As a Lead Electrical Construction Fitter, you will be an integral part of a supportive team that prioritizes safety and encourages innovative suggestions for improvement.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with a team to construct electrical systems within substations on the electricity distribution network, operating at voltages from 11kV to 132kV.
  • Ensure the safe execution of construction projects in live substation environments, adhering to operational safety protocols and legislation, including emergency response procedures.
  • Install fixed relays on existing relay panels and oversee the installation and commissioning of CT Metering apparatus.
  • Represent the company positively while interacting with both internal and external stakeholders, ensuring exceptional customer service and safeguarding the company’s reputation.
Qualifications:

To qualify for this position, candidates should possess:
  • A solid understanding of the electricity distribution network and experience working in live substation environments at voltages from 11kV to 132kV.
  • Experience with DC battery systems, internal panel wiring modifications, multicore cable terminations, circuit breaker wiring, and the ability to interpret wiring diagrams.
  • A strong commitment to safety, particularly in construction settings, coupled with excellent customer service skills.
  • Previous operational authorizations within the electricity network are advantageous, along with relevant training in areas such as scaffold, telehandler, working at height, and confined space regulations.
A valid driving license and a flexible approach to work hours and locations are essential due to the nature of the role requiring travel throughout the network area.
