Job Description:

Leonardo is seeking a skilled Electrical Installation Designer to join our team at our Helicopter Division in Yeovil. As part of our Electrical Installation Design Team, you will be responsible for the wiring and installation of electrical and avionic systems for our wide product range, including conventional helicopters, tilt rotors, and unmanned air systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in capturing and decomposing electrical installation requirements for avionic, electrical, or mission equipment
  • Carry out design activities to define and integrate wiring and harness design and installation, including harness routing definition, design and installation of avionic bays, instrument panels, and electrical panels
  • Produce installation and harness solutions in accordance with company standards using 3D CATIA and Wiring Design Tools
  • Design instrumentation sensing, vibration, and recording systems using 3D CATIA and Wiring Design Tools
  • Provide input and support to manufacturing and procurement processes and systems
Requirements:
  • HNC/HND/BTEC and Apprenticeship or relevant industry experience
  • Knowledge and/or experience of electrical and avionic system installation and wiring design
  • Knowledge and/or experience of wiring and harness specifications and design methods
  • Knowledge and/or experience of design tools – CATIA, PLM Systems, Enovia, Wiring Design tools
  • Knowledge and/or understanding of relevant airworthiness regulations
