In this pivotal role, you will deliver essential assistance to families facing housing challenges by providing expert guidance, managing individual cases, and executing strategies aimed at preventing and alleviating homelessness.
1. Manage a diverse caseload of families in housing distress, offering customized advice and support.
2. Address urgent and intricate cases swiftly, which may involve conducting interviews and assessments in various settings as necessary.
3. Perform comprehensive evaluations of housing needs and financial viability, providing informed recommendations based on these assessments.
4. Create, update, and review Personalized Housing Plans in line with the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017.
5. Negotiate with property owners, agents, and other relevant parties to secure or sustain housing for individuals at risk of losing their homes.
Qualifications:
- Significant experience in housing services, particularly in roles dedicated to homelessness prevention and housing assistance.
- Demonstrated ability to manage a caseload effectively, providing thorough support and guidance to individuals and families in need.
- Profound understanding of pertinent housing legislation, including the Housing Act 1996 and the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017, along with associated legal frameworks.
- Experience in conducting housing assessments, financial evaluations, and implementing interventions to meet housing needs.
Contract Details:
Contract type: 3-6 months minimum, with a strong possibility of extension.
Working Hours:
Monday - Friday, 35 hours per week.
