Job Title: SEND Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our dynamic team at a secondary school in Sale. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in supporting students with moderate learning difficulties (MLD) and autism spectrum disorder (ASD) to achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide individualized support to students with MLD and ASD, ensuring their learning needs are met and they are engaged in classroom activities.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other staff members to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment that promotes social and emotional development.
  • Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behaviour management strategies to support students with diverse needs.
  • Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teachers and parents/guardians to ensure students receive the support they need.
  • Support students during classroom activities, ensuring they are participating to their fullest potential and making progress towards their goals.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience working with students with MLD and/or ASD is highly desirable.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, colleagues, and parents/guardians.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting the learning and development of students with diverse needs.
  • Ability to adapt and respond to the individual needs and preferences of students.
