We invite applications for the role of Clinical Fellow (ST3+ Equivalent) specializing in Thoracic Surgery. This position is designed for individuals who are eager to enhance their expertise in a dynamic and innovative environment.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will join a dedicated team of professionals, including consultants and registrars, in delivering high-quality thoracic surgical care. Responsibilities will include:
- Providing comprehensive care to patients undergoing thoracic surgery.
- Managing patient referrals and participating actively in surgical procedures.
- Engaging in regular multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient management.
- Participating in a structured educational program aimed at professional development.
- Conducting a research or audit project under supervision, alongside administrative duties to enhance management skills.
Time will be allocated for training and professional growth, ensuring a well-rounded experience.
Qualifications and Experience
Applicants must possess the following:
- Full GMC registration with a license to practice.
- MRCS/FRCS or equivalent qualifications.
- Demonstrated experience in thoracic surgery and adequate progression in training.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently.
- Research experience, with presentations or publications in relevant fields.
Desirable Attributes
While not essential, the following qualifications and experiences are advantageous:
- Experience in related specialties such as Respiratory Medicine or Intensive Care.
- At least one year of ST3+ experience or its equivalent.
