Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Controls Systems Engineer to join our team at Actemium Automation in Teesside. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for delivering projects from start to finish, working closely with customers, suppliers, and colleagues to ensure successful project outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Actively participate in the whole life cycle of delivering projects, from project initiation to completion.
  • Foster strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and colleagues to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Produce high-quality design and test documentation to support project delivery.
  • Develop and implement PLC, DCS, HMI, and SCADA software solutions to meet customer requirements.
  • Perform testing and commissioning with customers to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Compile training manuals and deliver customer training sessions to ensure knowledge transfer.

Requirements

  • Intermediate-level experience with major brands of PLC, DCS, and SCADA/HMI platforms, with a willingness to learn new technologies.
  • Several years' experience writing software and working with customers to deliver projects.
  • Good understanding of setting up, commissioning, and fault finding of industrial networks (Profibus, ProfiNet, Ethernet) is preferred but not essential.
  • Experience working in an engineering environment is essential.
  • Ability to think outside the box and push boundaries to deliver innovative solutions.
  • Highly motivated, organized, and flexible with a positive attitude.
  • Ability to work unsupervised and as part of a team.
