Position Overview: The role of the Addiction Nurse is pivotal within the Acute Addiction Liaison nursing team. This position involves evaluating the extent of alcohol and drug use among patients admitted to the hospital. The team collaborates closely with medical, nursing, and allied health professionals, as well as community recovery services, to ensure effective care and treatment during the patient's hospital stay.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough assessments of patients' substance use issues.
- Develop and implement tailored care plans focused on recovery.
- Act as a liaison between acute hospitals and addiction recovery services.
- Provide ongoing support and guidance to hospital staff regarding the care of patients with substance use challenges.
- Facilitate training and educational programs for nursing staff to enhance their competencies in managing addiction-related cases.
Candidate Profile: The ideal candidate will possess a solid understanding of addiction issues and demonstrate a willingness to learn and grow within this specialized field. A current NMC UK pin is essential for application.
Work Schedule: The position follows a standard Monday to Friday schedule, 9 AM to 5 PM.
