Safety Engineer (MoD/Submarine Products)

This is an exciting opportunity to join a multi-billion global engineering services company who provide unrivalled training and development opportunities. As a Safety Engineer, you will provide professional safety and environmental engineering support for the development of existing submarine units and within the design process of new units. You will be responsible for product quality assurance and equipment reviews, and will work closely with the design team to ensure that all safety and environmental considerations are taken into account.

This role can be done remotely, with visits into the office/site when required. You will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects, including the development of state-of-the-art submarines and cutting-edge defence projects.

Key responsibilities:

  • Provide professional safety and environmental engineering support for the development of existing submarine units and within the design process of new units
  • Conduct product quality assurance and equipment reviews
  • Work closely with the design team to ensure that all safety and environmental considerations are taken into account
  • Develop and implement safety and environmental procedures and guidelines
  • Collaborate with other teams to ensure that safety and environmental considerations are integrated into all aspects of the business

Requirements:

  • Relevant degree in a safety or environmental related field
  • Proven experience in a safety or environmental role
  • Strong knowledge of safety and environmental regulations and standards
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
