College Kitchen Assistant

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Chef/Kitchen Assistant to join our team at Teaching Personnel. As a key member of our culinary team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the highest standards of food quality and safety in our college kitchens.
Key Responsibilities:
- Food Preparation and Service: Assist in the preparation and cooking of a range of meals and snacks, ensuring that all dishes meet our high standards of quality and presentation.
- Kitchen Maintenance: Maintain a clean, safe, and organized kitchen environment, adhering to all health and safety regulations and guidelines.
- Menu Planning and Food Ordering: Support the Head Chef in menu planning and food ordering, ensuring that all ingredients are sourced and stored efficiently.
- Food Hygiene and Safety: Ensure that all food hygiene and safety standards are consistently upheld, maintaining a clean and safe working environment for all staff and students.
- Stock Management and Inventory: Assist with stock management and inventory checks, ensuring that all food and kitchen supplies are accurately recorded and stored.
- Teamwork and Communication: Work effectively as part of a team to provide high-quality service, communicating clearly and respectfully with colleagues and students.
Requirements:
- Previous Experience: Previous experience in a kitchen environment is preferred, but not essential. We are willing to train the right candidate.
- Food Preparation and Safety Knowledge: Basic knowledge of food preparation and kitchen safety is essential, with a willingness to learn and develop your skills.
- Communication and Teamwork Skills: Excellent communication and teamwork skills are required, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Positive Attitude and Work Ethic: A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and a passion for food are essential for success in this role.
