Estimator - M&E Rail Job Description

The Estimator is a crucial role within our rail M&E specialist team in Kent, responsible for ensuring the estimated cost of a project is prepared accurately and consistently. This involves taking into account the methods of construction and all circumstances that may affect the execution of the work.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Log tender documents, addendums, and client correspondence on the server and distribute relevant copies to team members.
  • Produce sub-contractor enquiry schedules, incorporating feedback from the tender team and procurement department.
  • Issue sub-contract enquiries, including scope of works and attendance schedules (where applicable).
  • Issue materials enquiries.
Requirements:
  • Experience within M&E in construction, preferably in the rail sector.
  • Strong analytical and numeracy skills to evaluate detailed specifications, cost, and risk.
  • Detail-oriented with a thorough knowledge of the latest processes, materials, and costs.
  • Familiarity with estimating software such as Conquest/Causeway/Coins.
