About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Health, Safety and Wellbeing Advisor to join our team at SJ Sourcing. As a key member of our HSW Team, you will be responsible for providing expert advice, guidance, and coaching to our operational teams to ensure the highest levels of Health, Safety and Wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Advise on the production, implementation, and review of HSW plans, including construction phase plans and depot HSW plans.
  • Ensure risk assessments and method statements (RAMS) are prepared and reviewed as necessary.
  • Escalate significant and potentially significant incidents to the HSW Manager and Contract/Project Lead immediately.
  • Conduct incident investigations and identify preventative measures to prevent similar incidents recurring.
  • Maintain the incident management database and ensure monthly HSW reports are completed and submitted accurately and on time.
  • Review HSW trends with the Contract/Project Lead and establish improvement plans.
  • Conduct HSW audits and inspections, recording findings and actions on Procore.
  • Assist in closing out actions and non-conformances from HSW audits and inspections.
  • Build and maintain relationships with contractors, subcontractors, designers, suppliers, clients, and enforcement agencies.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in health and safety, preferably in highways/civil engineering.
  • Minimum NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent Technician, or Graduate membership of IOSH.
  • Desirable: Working towards chartered membership of IOSH, NEBOSH Diploma, or NEBOSH National Certificate in the Management of Health and Well-being at Work.
