We are seeking a highly skilled Project Engineer to lead the development of Infotainment components and systems for our Head Up Display project. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, releasing, and approving components to meet quality, cost, timing, and functionality targets.
Key Responsibilities- Commodity Ownership: Develop and implement a 5-year commodity strategy, identifying new technologies and implementing them within agreed budgets, resources, and timelines. Create engineering guidelines and archetypes for platform and non-platform engineered components.
- Engineering: Ensure component hardware is designed and engineered robustly using standard engineering toolsets. Support packaging activities to optimize performance and customer satisfaction. Investigate and resolve build concerns and noise floor issues.
- Delivery: Lead cross-functional teams to deliver components that meet quality, cost, weight, function, and timing requirements. Ensure commodity hardware supports feature plans and creates recovery plans as needed.
- Validation: Develop and manage virtual and physical design verification plans. Ensure effective report writing and robust resolution of concerns and testing issues. Complete final engineering sign-off documentation.
- Proven record of delivering Infotainment hardware with quality, cost, function, weight, and timing.
- Experience with delivering Infotainment or similar commodities.
- Extensive knowledge of automotive development systems, including specification, releasing, concerns, containments, gateways, and sign-off documentation.
- Experience leading cross-functional teams and resolving complex issues.
- Supplier management experience.
- Complete knowledge of the product development cycle from concept to launch completion.
- Excellent technical engineering background and knowledge of using calculation and analysis to drive design.
- Knowledge of automotive quality tools and processes.
- Extensive knowledge of manufacturing processes for electronic modules.
- Requirements writing skills, including use of software tools like Polarion, Doors, and Jama.
- Knowledge of CAN tools for diagnosing vehicle behavior and faults.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with teams to achieve goals and demonstrate a passion for team effectiveness.
- Customer Focus: Focus on high attention to detail and strive for excellence in work.
- Communication: Ensure clear and accurate communication with colleagues and stakeholders.
- Commitment: Take ownership of objectives and work activities, making informed decisions backed by data.
- Continuous Improvement: Challenge the status quo and seek to improve and develop traditional ways of thinking.
