About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Occupational Therapy Assistant to join our team at East London NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Occupational Therapy service, you will work closely with qualified OT staff to deliver a high-quality clinical service on the ward.

Key Responsibilities
  • Attend daily Unit huddles and planning meetings with the OT Team to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Work alongside Education staff to support young people in their therapeutic journey.
  • Organize, plan, and run sessions and activities to promote engagement and participation.
  • Ensure accurate and timely completion of administrative tasks.
  • Develop and maintain strong links with community resources to support patient engagement and discharge planning.
Person Specification
  • Fluent English language skills (oral and written).
  • Group work experience or training.
  • GCSE level or equivalent in English.
  • Experience working with young people or adults with mental health difficulties.
  • Facilitating therapeutic groups and individual interventions.
  • Working within a team environment.
Desirable Skills and Experience
  • Working with young people/adolescents in a therapeutic environment.
  • Working in an in-patient setting.
  • Excellent IT skills for groupwork, note keeping, presentations, and minute taking.
