Job Overview

Position Title: Maintenance Engineer (Sole Engineer on Premises)

Work Schedule: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday (7:30/8:00 am – 16:30/17:00 pm)

Compensation: £40,000 - £45,000 annually

About the Opportunity:

We are actively looking for a Maintenance Engineer to join a prominent organization within the food sector. This position is vital as you will be the sole engineer on the premises, tasked with the upkeep of all machinery and systems. The workplace fosters a welcoming, family-like environment.

Primary Duties:

  • Conduct maintenance and repairs on agricultural trolleys, hydraulic systems, ventilation, lighting, filtration, irrigation setups, and a substantial water reservoir.
  • Perform general site upkeep, encompassing both electrical and mechanical responsibilities.
  • Oversee and troubleshoot Combined Heat and Power (CHP) engines and associated systems.
  • Occasionally respond to urgent situations for significant breakdowns (with compensatory time off for any call-outs).

Qualifications:

  • Experience in the food sector is highly preferred but not mandatory.
  • 18th Edition certification is advantageous.
  • Robust engineering background, with applicable skills from various fields.
  • Capability to work autonomously and address the maintenance requirements of the facility.
  • Effective communication skills and a cooperative mindset.

  • Attractive salary range of £40,000 - £45,000 per annum.
