Job Title: Assistant IE Maint. Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Maintenance Engineer to join our team at SABIC. As a Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for providing detailed engineering and equipment reliability input to support the planning and specification of maintenance work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide engineering expertise to diagnose equipment malfunctions and identify appropriate actions to mitigate EHS and Production risks.
  • Develop a good understanding of the plant Instrument and Electrical compliance program and workload, and work with the Instrument and Electrical Technical Engineering team to optimize content and frequencies.
  • Support the Engineer, Maintenance with Compliance management, including driving compliance work completion and recognizing and developing postponement justification to protect compliance position.
  • Support the identification and optimization of maintenance interventions and ensure sufficient time is available for planning and resourcing of work.
  • Provide detailed engineering scope and specification, including supporting documentation, to allow the work delivery teams to provide competent cost-effective delivery of the work.
  • Identify and quantify priority activities to support L1 and L2 delivery teams.
  • First-line support to L1 and L2 delivery teams with respect to technical queries and fault diagnosis.
  • Collate and analyze equipment reliability and maintenance expenditure data to help identify and deliver maintenance improvement opportunities.
  • Practitioner in SABIC CMMS (SAP) and other electronic database systems.
  • Support Ordinary Maintenance Revenue (ORM) budget control by providing robust governance in line with Plant Maintenance Order release.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrate a proactive attitude to work and an ability to learn and share technical knowledge.
  • Good communication skills and emotional maturity.
  • The role will involve the use of SAP, DRS, trip testing management program, and other computer-based systems, and therefore a good level of IT literacy is required.
  • The successful applicant will have a broad background in Instrument and/or Electrical maintenance activities, some experience in engineering design and application of IE standards, with 2-5 years prior experience working on COMAH-registered plants, possibly as a Technician or First-Line Manager.
  • Able to demonstrate sound decision-making.
  • Excellent communication, coaching, and influencing skills, as many of the job accountabilities are achieved through the influencing of others.
  • Able to demonstrate a high concern for relevant standards.
  • Have a 'Can Do' attitude.
  • Able to demonstrate the ability to identify and lead improvement projects and processes.
  • Full UK Driving License.
  • Shall hold a minimum of HNC in an Instrument (or Electrical) discipline or equivalent qualification. Extensive experience in a similar role may be considered.
  • Will be or is willing to work towards - incorporated status within an accredited Academic Institute.
  • A sound understanding of preventative maintenance methodologies and processes is beneficial.
