About the Role:
The Senior Manufacturing Manager will be responsible for leading all operations functions to achieve business objectives, including safety, quality, on-time delivery, and cost. This will involve defining business unit-specific performance KPIs to monitor operational success against overall business objectives, reviewing with line managers, and supporting the implementation of actions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead all operations functions to achieve business objectives, including safety, quality, on-time delivery, and cost.
- Define business unit-specific performance KPIs to monitor operational success against overall business objectives.
- Review with line managers and support the implementation of actions.
- Provide exceptional leadership to ensure a high-performing and effective team, embedding a performance culture while positively motivating all staff.
- Carry out annual appraisals, regular reviews, and produce training and development plans to ensure the effectiveness of the operations group.
- Drive a culture of continual improvement using best practice and lean principles to increase productivity and reduce operational costs while maintaining excellent quality.
- Instigate and lead projects to proactively move the company forward.
Requirements:
- Demonstrable experience of managing operations or a range of operations functions within a medium-volume, product-line assembly industry.
- Proven track record of productivity and process improvements, including implementing lean production methods - Kanban, Backflushing, 5S within an SME business.
- Strong financial and business-related experience, including commercial appreciation.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Experience of managing continual improvement and change management programs.
