Job Summary:

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the SEN coordinator and classroom teachers to develop and implement individualized education programs for students with Autism and PMLD.
  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to students, assisting with academic tasks, social skills development, and personal care needs.
  • Create a supportive and inclusive learning environment by promoting positive behavior management strategies and fostering a sense of belonging for all students.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including therapists and other support staff, to ensure a holistic approach to students' development and well-being.
  • Monitor and document students' progress, providing regular feedback to teachers and parents/guardians.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with individuals with Autism and PMLD is essential.
  • A relevant qualification in Special Educational Needs or a related field is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of effective strategies for supporting students with diverse needs, including communication aids, sensory integration techniques, and behavior management approaches.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with students, parents/guardians, and colleagues.
  • Understanding of safeguarding and child protection protocols.

What We Offer:

  • A highly competitive rate of pay, £85 to £95 per day, depending on experience.
