This role is responsible for supporting the Estates Officer(s) in managing engineering maintenance and installation activities, including contract works to an appropriate standard.
Key Responsibilities- Support Authorised Persons in managing Engineering Services on Site
- Undertake Authorised Persons with limited responsibilities for electrical isolations, issuing of Permit to Works, and day-to-day management of engineering-related tasks
- Support in the management of engineering or building-related systems and services not typically specified within NHS HTM guidance
- Assist in ensuring that engineering systems have an up-to-date and sufficiently detailed asset register, planned preventative maintenance, and as-fitted drawings
- Assist in the regular assessment and review of engineering maintenance works/activities to ensure technical, professional, and operational standards are maintained
- Assist lead Authorised Person/project managers in prioritizing and economically completing engineering/project activities
- Implement, overview, and day-to-day manage the Trust's Revenue, Minor New Works, Backlog Maintenance, and Capital Schemes
- Ensure all schemes/works comply with Statutory Standards, Codes of Practice, Health and Safety Guidance, Health Building Notes, and Health Technical Memorandums
- Assist with the arrangement of service interruptions and liaise with specialist advisors to incorporate specific control measures
- Diagnose and instruct others in repairing faults to complex engineering installations, plant, and equipment
- Maintain accurate records and progress reports regarding engineering maintenance and installations
- Operate IT systems within the estates department, including intranet, BMS, Email, CAD, and estates CAFM system
- Assist with the formulation of long-term and annual engineering maintenance plans, programmes, and budgets
- Review and provide feedback on technical designs of new works, upgrades, and modifications, and provide project management input on capital schemes
- Develop and implement Trust/Departmental Policies and Procedures, and upkeep of all Health and Safety Files under CDM on all building owned by the Trust
- Undertake and produce engineering/conditional surveys of existing Buildings with regard to Engineering services
- Assist with preparation of Project Briefs, formulation, and setting of project objectives, and production of detailed design drawings and associated documents
- Carrying out of Feasibility Studies, including preparation of feasibility documents and drawings
