About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Senior AI and Machine Learning Director to join our team at JP Morgan Chase Bank, National Association. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of AI and machine learning solutions that drive business growth and innovation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategy and Development: Advise and lead on the strategy and development of multiple products, applications, and technologies across a portfolio, ensuring alignment with business objectives and industry trends.
  • AI/ML Feasibility and Business Cases: Advise on the technical feasibility and business need for AI/ML use cases and write comprehensive business cases to support investment decisions.
  • Machine Learning Development Lifecycle: Guide and advise IPB developers through the Machine Learning Development Lifecycle (MDLC), ensuring seamless integration with existing systems and processes.
  • Cross-Border Implications: Advise on cross-border implications, including national caveats and regulatory constraints, and data privacy implications, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Stakeholder Liaison: Liaise with firm-wide AI/ML stakeholders, fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing to drive innovation and growth.
  • Education and Training: Oversee the broader education of IPB developers in AI/ML development, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to drive business success.
  • Code Solutions and Development: Create novel code solutions and drive the development of new production code capabilities across teams and functions, leveraging expertise in Python and other relevant technologies.
  • Technical Leadership: Translate highly complex technical issues, trends, and approaches to leadership, driving the firm's innovation and enabling leaders to make strategic, well-informed decisions about technology advancements.
  • Methodologies and Adoption: Drive adoption and implementation of technical methods in specialized fields in line with the latest product development methodologies, ensuring alignment with industry best practices.
  • Senior Stakeholder Relationships: Influence across business, product, and technology teams and successfully manage senior stakeholder relationships, fostering collaboration and driving business growth.
  • Culture and Diversity: Champion the firm's culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect, ensuring a positive and inclusive work environment.
Requirements
  • Formal Training or Certification: Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and expert applied experience.
  • Python Developmental Toolsets: Advanced proficiency in Python developmental toolsets.
  • Natural Language Processing: Experience in Natural Language Processing, including Large Language Models.
  • Machine Learning Models: Experience in building, evaluating, and deploying machine learning models into production.
  • System Design and Development: Practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
  • Influencing and Delivering Value: Demonstrated prior experience with influencing across functions and teams and delivering value at scale.
  • Complex Technology Problems: Experience applying expertise and new methods to determine solutions for complex technology problems across various technical disciplines.
  • Cloud Native Experience: Extensive practical cloud native experience.
  • Education: BSc in Computer Science or related field.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Postgraduate Qualification: Postgraduate-level qualification in data science, artificial intelligence, or machine learning.
  • Financial Services Experience: Experience within financial services technology.
