Location: Weston-Super-Mare

Contract: Full Time, permanent

Hours: 38 hours per week

Salary: Up to £29,641.04 with sleep-in shifts for unqualified candidates, up to £30,905.68 with sleep-in shifts for qualified candidates

About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Residential Childcare Support Worker to join our team at Headway Adolescent Resources Ltd. As a key member of our residential homes, you will work with young people with challenging behaviour, providing a high standard of care and support to help them achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with young people to develop their life skills and promote their independence
  • Provide emotional support and guidance to young people, helping them to manage their behaviour and make positive choices
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of individual care plans, ensuring that the needs of each young person are met
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to maintain a safe and supportive environment for all young people
  • Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge

Requirements:

  • Full manual driving license
  • Ability to work on your own initiative and maintain accurate records
  • Good interpersonal skills and a positive team player attitude
  • Empathetic nature and ability to engage with young people
  • Good oral and written communication skills

Desirable Skills:

  • Previous experience of working with young people
  • Will to work towards a fully funded qualification in level 3 Children and Young People
