Job Summary:

The Emerald Group is seeking a highly skilled Senior Actuary - Pricing Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Actuarial team, you will be responsible for providing expert pricing recommendations and working closely with our business development team to achieve our annual new business targets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Quotation and Pricing: Develop and maintain pricing models and quotation tools to ensure accurate and competitive pricing for bulk annuity buy-ins and buy-outs.
  • Investment and Reinsurance: Collaborate with our investment team to identify suitable assets to support bulk annuity transactions and work with our reinsurance team to ensure reinsurance is appropriately incorporated within quotations.
  • Contract Negotiations: Review legal agreements and contribute to contract negotiations with external stakeholders to ensure alignment with our business objectives.
  • Business Development: Support our business development team in identifying new business opportunities and developing relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Pricing Model Development: Contribute to the development of our pricing bases and pricing models that adhere to our risk tolerances and are scalable for future growth.
  • Risk Governance: Ensure compliance with our risk governance framework and manage stakeholders to ensure effective risk management.

Requirements:

  • Actuarial Qualification: Chartered Actuary or equivalent qualification.
  • UK Defined Benefit Pensions: Strong knowledge of UK Defined Benefit pensions and the bulk annuity market.
  • Business Acumen: Strong business acumen and ability to understand the commercial implications of actuarial decisions.
