About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced legal professional to join our team as a Legal Advisor. As a key member of our in-house legal service, you will provide expert advice on a range of matters, including contracts, procurement, and local government.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide legal advice to Council Officers and Members on a variety of matters, including probity and lawfulness issues.
  • Undertake legal casework with limited supervision, including advising on the exercise of powers and drafting notices, orders, and agreements.
  • Be a main contact for the provision of legal advice to the Contracts and Procurement Service, including commissioning, company, and commercial matters.
  • Undertake original drafting of complex documentation for contracts and other contract-related matters.
Requirements
  • Be a fully qualified Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive.
  • Have evidence of and commitment to Continuous Professional Development.
  • Have 3-5 years' experience in one or a combination of the following fields: contracts, procurement, and local government.
  • Have good interpersonal skills and the ability to develop and sustain relationships with a variety of people.
