Key Responsibilities

  • Provide individualized and small group support to students with diverse learning needs, including those with special educational needs (SEN) and disabilities.
  • Assist students in accessing the curriculum, ensuring they can fully participate in classroom activities.
  • Collaborate closely with teachers to implement individual learning plans (ILPs) and adapt teaching materials to meet the specific requirements of students.
  • Support students' social, emotional, and academic development, fostering their confidence and self-esteem.
  • Contribute to the monitoring and recording of student progress, providing valuable feedback to teachers and the SEN coordinator.
  • Help cultivate an inclusive and supportive classroom environment where all students feel valued and empowered to reach their full potential.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Possesses previous experience working as a Learning Support Mentor or in a similar role within an educational setting (preferred).
  • Demonstrates a caring, patient, and empathetic approach to supporting students with diverse needs.
  • Exhibits strong communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • Maintains a proactive attitude, capable of working independently and as part of a team.
  • Holds a valid DBS check registered with the Update Service or is willing to apply for one.
