Job Title: Senior Clinical/Counselling Psychologist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Clinical/Counselling Psychologist to join our team in Older Adult Clinical Psychology Services. The successful candidate will have a strong background in working with older adults and a passion for developing their clinical, supervisory, and leadership skills.

About the Role

The post holder will work closely with our Older Adult Community Mental Health teams and Memory Assessment service in North Powys, providing highly specialised psychological assessment, formulation, and evidence-based therapies to older people and their families. The role also involves specialist psychological consultation and clinical supervision to colleagues to support them in developing their knowledge and skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide highly specialised psychological assessment, formulation, and evidence-based therapies to older people and their families.
  • Work closely with the Older Adult Community Mental Health teams and Memory Assessment service in North Powys.
  • Provide specialist psychological consultation and clinical supervision to colleagues.
  • Develop and implement evidence-based psychological therapies for older adults.
  • Contribute to the development of our Older Adult Clinical Psychology Services.
Person Specification

We are looking for a candidate with a postgraduate doctorate in Clinical/Counselling Psychology and HCPC registration. The ideal candidate will have experience of working with older adults, knowledge of ethical and professional frameworks, and a strong understanding of the local and national agendas regarding older people.

The successful candidate will be able to communicate complex information effectively, work collaboratively with colleagues, and provide high-quality clinical services to older adults.
