Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Stroke Medicine Consultant to join our team at East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust. As a key member of our clinical team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the ongoing development of our Stroke services.

Main Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Management
    • Contribute to the strategic planning and development of our Stroke services
    • Share responsibility for the day-to-day management of the service
  • Patient Care
    • Maintain high-quality patient-centered care
    • Deliver thrombolysis to patients with acute stroke
  • Teaching and Training
    • Teach clinical skills to junior doctors and other healthcare professionals
    • Contribute to the education and training of medical students
  • Research and Quality Improvement
    • Participate in research studies and quality improvement initiatives
    • Contribute to the development of clinical guidelines and protocols
Requirements
  • Qualifications
    • Entry on the GMC Specialist Register or eligibility for entry
    • College Membership (MRCP) or equivalent qualification
  • Experience
    • Broad range of experience in Stroke Medicine, including GIM, Geriatric Medicine, and Neurology
    • Experience of supervising junior doctors and other healthcare professionals
  • Skills
    • Able to evidence engagement with clinical governance and error identification
    • Ability to critically appraise published evidence
