About the Role:
We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled EHS Director to lead our sustainability efforts and drive environmental, social, and economic value for our stakeholders. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for developing and executing our health and safety, environmental management, and sustainability strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the Development and Execution of EHS Strategy: Develop and implement a comprehensive EHS strategy that aligns with our company's vision and mission, and ensures the successful integration of all phases of the EHS Management System.
- Drive Safety Culture Transformation: Build a deeply embedded safety culture by identifying and overcoming barriers to improving safety behavior in a sustainable way across all our manufacturing facilities.
- Manage EHS Programs and Performance: Oversee the development and implementation of EHS programs, track performance, and report on EHS metrics to the leadership team.
- Coach and Develop EHS Team: Coach, develop, and mentor a team of EHS advisors to develop and deploy excellence in EHS management for our operations.
- Improve EHS Oversight: Conduct audits and reviews of manufacturing activities to ensure compliance with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
- Support Risk and Insurance Team: Collaborate with the risk and insurance team to identify and mitigate potential risks and develop strategies to minimize losses.
- Lead Continual Improvement Initiatives: Develop and implement initiatives to improve our EHS management system and maintain/develop ISO45001 (or equivalent) certifications.
- Work with Global EHS Team: Collaborate with the global EHS leadership team to deliver strong performance and embed the latest thinking and practice in EHS management.
- Recruit and Train Staff: Organize the recruitment and training of EHS staff, and monitor their performance and progress.
- Translate Strategy into Action: Work with the divisional team to translate our EHS strategy into specific annual performance goals and departmental objectives, including KPIs, and track their progress.
Requirements:
- 5+ Years of EHS Senior Management Experience: Proven experience in EHS senior management, with a strong track record of developing and implementing EHS strategies and driving safety culture transformation.
- Strong Safety Culture Development Experience: Excellent experience in developing and implementing safety culture transformation initiatives, with a strong understanding of the principles of safety culture development.
- Excellent Relationship-Building Skills: Strong ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including employees, customers, and regulatory agencies.
- Understanding of EHS Legal Frameworks: Strong understanding of EHS legal frameworks within the EU and the ability to determine the practical application of the requirements.
- Proficiency in MS Office and EHS Software: Proficiency in MS Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, as well as EHS software and systems.
- Ability to Travel: Ability to travel to our manufacturing facilities and other locations as required.
