We are seeking a highly experienced EHS Director to lead our Environment and Sustainability team in the UK. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for developing and executing our health and safety, environmental management, and sustainability strategies.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement a comprehensive EHS management system that meets regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
- Lead the development of safety culture transformation initiatives to drive behavioral change and improve safety performance.
- Collaborate with site directors and local HSE teams to ensure effective implementation of EHS policies and procedures.
- Drive the establishment of objectives, plans, standards, procedures, and policies to ensure successful implementation and integration of all phases of the EHS Management System.
- Conduct regular audits and reviews to ensure compliance with EHS regulations and industry standards.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including regulatory bodies, industry associations, and external partners.
- Provide coaching, development, and mentoring to a team of EHS advisors to enhance their skills and knowledge.
- Support the risk and insurance team with risk engineering audits and associated recommendations.
- Lead continual improvement initiatives to develop and maintain the company's EHS management system and maintain/develop ISO45001 (or equivalent) certifications.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in EHS senior management.
- Strong safety culture development and transformation experience.
- Excellent relationship-building skills with the ability to build a network of connections both internally and externally.
- Understanding of EHS legal frameworks within the EU and the ability to determine the practical application of the requirements.
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, MS Teams, SharePoint, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to travel.
