About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Speech and Language Therapist to join our team at NHS Professionals Limited. As a member of our acute team, you will be responsible for providing a service to individuals with communication and/or swallowing problems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct differential diagnoses on clients' communication/swallowing based on evidence from assessment and seek advice as necessary.
  • Develop clear care plans based on best practice.
  • Attend relevant training and development to maintain and develop specialist skills and knowledge.
  • Develop a working knowledge of relevant procedures, including working with vulnerable adults and other legal frameworks in line with government policy.
  • Develop a working knowledge of the principles of Clinical Governance and their application to professional practice.
  • Demonstrate highly developed auditory, perceptual, and analytical skills in the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of patients/clients.
  • Assess, develop, and implement specialist speech and language therapy treatment to a defined specialized caseload of adult patients with a variety of communication and swallowing disorders.
  • Provide advice/training to other professionals, patients, carers, and families regarding the management and care of patients with communication disorders and/or feeding and swallowing difficulties.
  • Adapt practice to meet individual patients' circumstances.
  • Supervise the work of assistants and volunteers.
