Job Description:
The Supply Chain Operations Coordinator will oversee the daily execution of service supply chain functions within their designated area.
This role is pivotal in ensuring that local service performance indicators are achieved and that all regional supply chain requirements are met efficiently. The Coordinator will engage closely with the local Service Delivery team and manage initial escalations within the assigned area.
Key Responsibilities:
- Utilize supply chain processes and protocols to deliver outstanding customer service.
- Implement global supply chain processes at the local level.
- Collaborate with the global planning team to align inventory policies with regional needs.
- Proactively identify and resolve issues faced by internal and external customers in a timely manner.
- Work alongside various logistics service providers to ensure their offerings align with business requirements.
- Partner with regional third-party logistics providers (warehouses and transport services) to ensure compliance with business standards and performance expectations.
- Assist in the cycle counting process for all inventory within the region.
- Maintain inventory accuracy across all stocking locations in the designated area.
- Adhere to all procedures meticulously, including documentation management to ensure compliance with trade regulations.
- Regularly review cost structures to ensure alignment with budgetary constraints.
- Uphold the Smiths Code of Corporate Responsibility and Business Ethics in all professional activities.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Diploma in a relevant discipline (or higher).
- Relevant professional qualifications and/or substantial experience in inventory and logistics management or procurement (e.g., APICS certification).
- Proficient in all applications within the MS Office Suite and capable of learning specialized software.
- Familiarity with SAP and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
- Proficient in English; additional language skills are advantageous.
- Demonstrated experience as a Supply Chain Specialist or in a comparable role, showcasing a thorough understanding of supply chain operations.
- Strong grasp of logistics, inventory management, and planning in both functional and cross-functional environments.
