About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Manager Supply Chain and Logistics to join our team at High Speed Two (HS2). As a key member of our Commercial Strategy team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the effective management of our supply chain and logistics operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide a link between the Commercial Strategy team and the Supply Chain & Logistics team, facilitating effective communication and alignment of objectives.
  • Develop commercial strategies and plans, working closely with the Supply Chain & Logistics team to ensure procurement strategies are coordinated.
  • Identify potential issues or risks in the development of new commercial strategies, providing regular updates to senior management on team alignment.
  • Manage internal and external SCM resources, supporting the HS2 professional development process and assuring formal SCM reports.
  • Prepare the industry for HS2 procurement, conducting Supply Chain Mapping and promoting excellent Supply Chain relationships.
  • Lead market sounding exercises and support SCM delivery, maintaining SCM data and tools, and reporting in accordance with SCM programme governance.
  • Represent steel issues and liaise with government and industry representatives, collating compliance data against PPN 11/16 for the Cabinet Office.
  • Actively promote and embed Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) within the team.

Requirements:

  • Team management & leadership skills, with the ability to support, coach, and mentor colleagues.
  • Analytical, commercial, and negotiating skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Communication skills, including report writing and presenting, with stakeholder management skills and the ability to engage effectively with supply chain and industry bodies.
  • Knowledge of government initiatives and best practices in Supply Chain Management, with an understanding of commercial and contract delivery lifecycles.
  • Membership of CIPS, IACCM, or equivalents, with experience managing a SCM or supplier engagement programme, and experience within a procurement or commercial governance structure.
