About the Role

Sandwell Academy School is seeking a dynamic and creative Director of Careers to play a pivotal role in supporting our students to secure the best destinations possible, and to become informed about and equipped for the world of work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build rapport with colleagues and young people to provide exceptional support and guidance
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive careers strategy that aligns with the school's vision and goals
  • Collaborate with teachers, staff, and external partners to provide students with meaningful work experience and career opportunities
  • Manage and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, including employers, universities, and other educational institutions
  • Provide guidance and support to students on the UCAS process and other post-16 options
  • Develop and deliver careers education and guidance programs that meet the needs of all students
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of careers education and guidance programs
  • Provide professional development opportunities for staff to enhance their careers guidance skills

Requirements

  • Proven experience in careers guidance and education, preferably in a school setting
  • Strong knowledge of the UCAS process and other post-16 options
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to build relationships with colleagues, students, and external partners
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
