Exciting Opportunity: Data Engineering Specialist at Aviva
Aviva is currently seeking a highly experienced Data Engineering Specialist to join their team on a permanent basis. The ideal candidate will have extensive expertise in data engineering and design, team management, and stakeholder engagement. Experience with cloud technologies and modern OLAP platforms is a must.
About the Role:
In this position, you will lead a team to enhance the overall capabilities of Aviva. You will be part of the Solutions Team, working on the implementation of new technologies within the organization's tech stack.
Key requirements for this role include proficiency in cloud technologies (especially AWS), distributed frameworks like Apache Spark, and modern OLAP platforms such as Snowflake. You will be responsible for managing a team of 4, so strong leadership skills are essential.
Key Skills and Experience:
- Hands-on experience with cloud technologies in AWS
- Expertise in modern OLAP technologies like Snowflake
- Familiarity with streaming technologies like Apache Kafka
- Demonstrable experience in Python and Spark
- Experience with scheduling tools like Apache Airflow
- Prior leadership and management experience, preferably in the financial services sector
