Job Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced EC&I Design Engineer to join our growing team in Ellesmere Port. In this role, you will be responsible for developing detailed design documentation, specifications, and calculations for complex EC&I systems. You will work closely with project managers, engineers, and clients to ensure that projects are delivered on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop comprehensive drawing and document packs, including design specifications and FAT/SAT documentation for analytical and metering systems.
  • Conduct accurate calculations for cable sizing, I.S loops, AC and DC loads, lighting, and thermal capacity.
  • Provide technical guidance and training to junior engineers.
  • Collaborate with site-based and commissioning engineers to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Participate in client meetings and effectively communicate complex technical information.
  • Contribute to process improvements and identify opportunities for optimization.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in EC&I design, preferably with a relevant degree qualification or apprenticeship.
  • Proven expertise in hazardous area installations and CompEx EX01-EX04 and/or EX12 modules.
  • In-depth knowledge of gas analytical and metering systems.
  • Strong understanding of electrical installations according to BS 7671 regulations.
