We are seeking a highly skilled Project Manager to join our team at HS2 Ltd. As a key member of our Integrated Project Team, you will be responsible for managing the Construction Supplier contract on behalf of the Project Client and Senior Project Managers.
Your primary objective will be to work effectively and collaboratively with HS2 and Supply Chain resource to fulfil clearly defined HS2 accountabilities, ensuring efficient delivery of assigned scope within agreed budget, time, and quality parameters.
Key Responsibilities- Fulfill the duties and obligations of the NEC3 Project Manager on behalf of the Project Client and the Senior Project Manager.
- Support the Senior Project Manager in managing construction contracts within the Integrated Project Team.
- Establish, monitor, and manage delivery of consistent contract management, including identification of emergent or systemic problems, leading to resolution.
- Manage and monitor contract performance.
- Review and accept programme schedule.
- Support the Senior Project Manager in proactively managing risks within the Integrated Project Team scope and support the mitigation of HS2 programme level risks.
- Perform Construction Design and Management Regulations (CDM) duties as delegated by the Client Representative.
- Support the delivery of client retained third-party works and services by being the interface with HS2 employees external to the Integrated Project Team.
- Support a collaborative culture that enables high performance by encouraging innovation and knowledge sharing between HS2, other Integrated Project Teams, and the supply chain within Integrated Project Teams.
- Actively promote and embed Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) in all work and support and comply with all organisational initiatives, policies, and procedures on EDI.
We are looking for a candidate with:
- Project Management skills, aligned to APM Project Manager (intermediate), with the ability to plan and integrate projects to deliver target costs, dependencies, risk management, and project benefits.
- Problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify problems and review related information to assist in the development and evaluation of options and the implementation of solutions.
- Decision-making skills, with the ability to manage the gathering and synthesising of necessary information to assist in the identification of options and the application of judgement based on logic and reason.
- Analysis skills, with the ability to analyse inputs, assess data in order to assist in the development of strategies and document supporting rationales.
- Influencing and negotiating skills, with the ability to influence and negotiate with internal functions and external supply chain partners.
- Building relationships skills, with the ability to establish and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders and suppliers to resolve emergent risk situations.
We require a candidate with a strong understanding of project management knowledge aligned to the level of APM Project Manager (intermediate), as well as experience of the entire Construction project lifecycle, including planning, procuring, developing, and implementing similar project activities.
A qualification in project management, construction engineering, commercial management, or equivalent experience is essential.
