Purchasing Manager Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Purchasing Manager to join our team at ASC Connections Ltd. As a key member of our purchasing function, you will be responsible for leading a team of Buyers and Senior Buyers to deliver a best-in-class purchasing function.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the company's growth by enabling profit through effective sourcing.
  • Reduce supplier lead time while ensuring they maintain high standards.
  • Develop a strategy for your category to ensure both general production and new model manufacturing can be fulfilled.
  • Support the business in new product development by analyzing trends within categories and commodities.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities within your specific category.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience as a Purchasing Manager, leading a team of Category Buyer, Senior Buyer, or Project Buyers within a manufacturing business, ideally within the automotive/motorsport industry.
  • Experience in New Product Introduction.
  • Proven negotiation skills and in-depth understanding of commercial terms.
  • Familiarity with Far East sourcing.
  • Understanding of Lean Manufacturing.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Purchased a range of materials, components, and parts.
  • Worked with a range of MER/ERP systems.
