Job Opportunity

Gemini Rail Services is a leading provider of innovative solutions to the rail industry. We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join our team and contribute to the maintenance of various train mechanical and electrical systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct fault finding on mechanical and electrical systems to identify and resolve issues
  • Perform reactive maintenance on mechanical and electrical systems to ensure optimal performance
  • Liaise with equipment manufacturers to resolve technical issues and implement repairs
  • Collaborate with the Facilities Manager to prioritize repairs and minimize production downtime
  • Work overtime, including weekends and bank holidays, as required
  • Adhere to all working procedures and ensure a safe working environment
  • Communicate defects and propose solutions to the Facilities Manager
  • Identify opportunities for improvement and communicate them to the team
  • Prioritize and manage workload to ensure efficient completion of tasks
  • Minimize machine downtime and ensure tasks are completed to a high standard

Requirements

  • Good standard of literacy and spoken English
  • Good understanding of Health and Safety requirements
  • Trained in fault finding techniques, root cause analysis, and team working
  • Experience of maintenance within an industrial environment
  • Understanding of electrical and mechanical systems
  • Flexible approach to changing priorities
  • Good communication skills, able to work with people at all levels
  • Able to work at height and possess relevant licenses
  • PC and IT literate
