Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Compliance Officer to join our team at Social Care Locums. As a key member of our Planning Enforcement team, you will play a critical role in ensuring that development is carried out in accordance with approved plans and that conditions imposed on planning permissions are complied with.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Liaise with Team Leaders and Development Managers on complex and high-profile investigations, providing expert advice and guidance to ensure effective enforcement of planning regulations.
  2. Log and Investigate Investigation Requests in a timely and efficient manner, ensuring that all necessary documentation is gathered and analyzed to support enforcement actions.
  3. Conduct Site Visits and Surveys to gather evidence of potential breaches of planning control, interviewing stakeholders as necessary to gather information and build a comprehensive understanding of the situation.
  4. Negotiate Compliance with planning controls, working with developers and other stakeholders to resolve issues and ensure compliance with regulations.
  5. Liaise with Legal Services and Other Relevant Services as necessary, providing expert advice and guidance to support enforcement actions and ensure effective communication with stakeholders.
  6. Prepare Reports and Present Evidence in written representation appeals, informal hearings, public inquiries, and court hearings, providing clear and concise evidence to support enforcement actions.
  7. Respond to Enquiries and Correspondence from members, other officers, members of the public, and other interested parties, providing timely and effective responses to ensure effective communication and resolution of issues.
  8. Work with Team Leaders and Other Officers to deliver proactive enforcement projects, increasing public awareness and understanding of planning regulations and enforcement actions.
  9. Assist with Officer and Member Training to ensure that all staff are equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills to effectively enforce planning regulations.
  10. Provide Enforcement Support across Planning Services, working with other teams to ensure effective enforcement of planning regulations and compliance with regulations.
  11. Assist with Committee Reports on the Compliance Team's performance, providing expert advice and guidance to support effective decision-making.
