Job Summary:
UNISON is seeking a highly motivated and dynamic team member to develop and lead on the day-to-day maintenance of the union's staff payroll and expenses system.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain the payroll and expenses system, ensuring all changes are completed in line with monthly deadlines and statutory obligations.
- Assist the Payroll and Expenses Manager in processing payroll and expenses data, and undertake monthly and year-end reporting requirements.
- Collaborate with other departments to develop and implement new Payroll/HR systems, processes, and procedures, training material, and reports.
- Provide technical and practical knowledge of payroll systems, including development, testing, and implementation of processes and controls.
- Advise on technical matters and general payroll compliance issues, with a strong understanding of current payroll and statutory legislation.
Requirements:
- Recognised professional qualification or proven relevant experience in developing payroll and expenses systems.
- Strong analytical skills and reporting attributes, with an eye for detail.
- Excellent knowledge and understanding of regulatory requirements and internal operational issues, policies, and practices.
- Highly organised and able to work unsupervised to meet diverse demands and objectives.
