Key Responsibilities of the Food Category Lead:
- Build and maintain relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, as well as key suppliers, to collaborate effectively and achieve cost reductions on food and beverage expenditures.
- Develop category and sourcing strategies while identifying market opportunities to ensure the company's offerings remain industry-leading.
- Formulate and execute strategies in anticipation of upcoming projects, contract expirations, and market changes that could impact the business.
- Guide and assess the performance of buyers to ensure that sourcing strategies and tender results maximize commercial success and value.
- Evaluate and manage commodity risks, track market trends, and devise strategies with suppliers to mitigate future challenges.
- Ensure adherence to sustainable sourcing practices and compliance with contracts and frameworks.
Required Qualifications:
- Proven commercial acumen and comprehensive procurement experience within the Food and Beverage sector.
- Demonstrable expertise in strategic sourcing or category management.
- Exceptional negotiation skills, strong communication abilities, and the capacity to engage and influence senior stakeholders and suppliers.
- Ability to achieve cost savings in the face of fluctuating market conditions.
- Strategic-level procurement experience.
