About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Manager to lead our product development, regulatory management, and technical support functions. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, managing customer queries, and driving new product development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Regulatory Management: Ensure products comply with relevant regulations, such as CLP, REACH, Cosmetics Regulation, and Detergents Regulation. Identify upcoming regulatory risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
  • New Product Development: Work with customers to develop new products, manage the NPI process, and improve product formulations.
  • Existing Product Support: Refine existing products, review options for reformulation, and ensure compliance with changing regulations and raw material availability.
  • Line Management: Lead a team of development chemists and the QC Lab team, providing guidance and support to ensure successful product development and quality control.
  • Production Support: Collaborate with the operations team to address production challenges and ensure smooth manufacturing processes.
  • Raw Material Management: Manage and refine raw material data, supporting the Procurement Manager in introducing new materials.
  • Label Compliance: Ensure artwork review and compliance with relevant regulations.
  • COSHH: Work with the SHEQ Manager to ensure appropriate documentation for chemicals handled on-site.
  • Customer Interaction: Join the sales team to support new and existing business, providing technical expertise and guidance to customers.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Chemist with experience in technical management or a related field.
  • Proven track record of regulatory compliance and product development.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to manage a team and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex technical issues and develop effective solutions.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
