About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mental Health Practitioner to join our Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) team at Berkshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust.

As a Mental Health Practitioner, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to children and young people with mental health needs. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to assess, diagnose, and develop treatment plans for young people, as well as provide consultation and advice to referrers and colleagues.

Main Responsibilities

  • Triage and assessment of young people presenting to CAMHS services
  • Consultation with professionals making referrals to the service
  • Undertaking telephone and face-to-face assessments of young people referred to the service
  • Developing and implementing treatment plans in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team
  • Providing advice and consultation to referrers and colleagues
  • Working flexibly across multiple sites
  • Participating in the review of clinical records and data analysis to support service development

Requirements

  • Registered Mental Health Nurse or other relevant healthcare professional qualification
  • Masters-level or significant experience in mental health
  • HCPC registration or equivalent
  • Eligibility for Chartered status with the British Psychological Society

Desirable Criteria

  • Mentorship qualification
  • Postgraduate qualification in a relevant field
