Job Overview

TRC Companies, Inc. is seeking a seasoned Senior Director to join our dynamic team. This role will provide strategic leadership and technical guidance across various projects and programs within the organization.

Responsibilities
  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute strategic plans aligned with business objectives, fostering innovation and growth within the technical delivery function.
  • Team Management: Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of technical professionals, creating a collaborative and supportive work environment.
  • Project and Program Oversight: Oversee the successful execution of complex technical projects and programs, ensuring on-time delivery, budget adherence, and quality standards.
  • Technical Guidance: Provide expert technical guidance and support to project teams, resolving complex technical challenges and promoting best practices.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Effectively communicate with stakeholders at all levels, building strong relationships and ensuring alignment on project goals and deliverables.
  • Resource Planning: Develop and manage resource allocation strategies to optimize team performance and ensure efficient utilization of technical expertise.
  • Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate potential risks associated with technical projects, implementing proactive measures to minimize disruptions.
  • Innovation and Technology Trends: Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends, identifying opportunities for innovation and continuous improvement within the technical delivery process.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience.
  • 15+ years of progressive experience in technical leadership roles, demonstrating a strong track record of success in managing complex projects and teams.
  • Proven ability to align technical initiatives with business goals, driving strategic outcomes and delivering measurable results.
  • Financial acumen and budget management skills, ensuring responsible resource allocation and cost-effective project execution.
  • Strong technical expertise in programming languages and tools, coupled with a deep understanding of software development methodologies.
  • Exceptional leadership and communication skills, fostering collaboration, building consensus, and effectively communicating complex technical information to diverse audiences.
  • Strategic thinker with a commitment to continuous learning, embracing new technologies and industry best practices.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in the utility industry, particularly in areas such as power distribution or distribution networks.
  • Knowledge of cloud technologies and microservice architectures.
  • Proficiency in Business Intelligence Reporting tools.
  • PMP certification is a bonus.
