About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Lecturer in Primary Education to join our team at Nottingham Trent University. As a key member of our Institute of Education, you will play a vital role in shaping the future of primary education.

As a Senior Lecturer, you will be responsible for leading our PGCE Primary ITE Course and teaching across both our postgraduate and undergraduate 3-11 Primary Initial Teacher Education with QTS courses. You will work closely with our team of primary specialist colleagues to deliver high-quality education programs that meet the needs of our students and the wider community.

We are looking for an individual with a strong background in primary education, excellent communication skills, and the ability to lead and motivate others. You will have experience of successfully supporting trainees while on placement and be aware of current issues in primary education. Prior experience of course leadership is an advantage.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the PGCE Primary ITE Course and teach across both postgraduate and undergraduate 3-11 Primary Initial Teacher Education with QTS courses
  • Work closely with primary specialist colleagues to deliver high-quality education programs
  • Support trainees while on placement and provide guidance and feedback
  • Contribute to the development of curriculum and best practice in primary education
  • Participate in research projects and contribute to the academic community
