Job Description

Job Title: Aspiring Education Psychologist - SEMH Learning Support Assistant

Location: Barking and Dagenham

Salary Scale: £90-£100 per day

Contract Type: Long Term Contract, 5 days a week, 8:30 – 16:00

About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistant to join our team at GSL Education. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting children with challenging behavior profiles, deriving from their possible difficulties to socialise, emotional and/or mental health difficulties/traumas.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support children with SEMH difficulties, providing a safe and secure environment for them to thrive
  • Work closely with therapists to expand your knowledge, skillset, and gain relevant practical experience
  • Develop and implement creative, visual, practical, and academic approaches to aid the learning of young people with SEMH
  • Build trust with students, listening to their personal information and reacting in accordance with the Keeping Children Safe in Education policy
  • Provide consistency and equip children and young people with tools to feel safe, secure, empowered, and believe that they can succeed in life

Requirements:

  • Graduates of social science, youth studies, psychology, criminology, or similar
  • Non-graduates with sincerity, compassion, enthusiasm, and inspiration
  • Ability to work with vulnerable children and young people
  • Knowledge of the Keeping Children Safe in Education policy
