Your Role as Lead Communications Strategist...

In this pivotal role, you will serve as the strategic mastermind behind our media initiatives and ongoing platforms. The Communications Strategist operates at the crossroads of creativity and media, working closely with the Brand Experience, Creative, and Media Planning and Buying Teams to ensure that communication strategies are seamlessly integrated across the most effective channels for each brand's objectives. This position requires a strategist who possesses both creative flair and analytical prowess, capable of contextualizing ideas within the right media landscape to ensure that creative execution and media strategies align perfectly.

Key Responsibilities of the Lead Communications Strategist:
  • Oversee daily communications planning for prominent, dynamic accounts, fostering strong relationships with clients alongside fellow McCann team members.
  • Collaborate closely with Strategy and Creative leads to maximize the effectiveness of our creative concepts through an integrated mix of owned, earned, and paid channels, utilizing innovative media and technology.
  • Work in tandem with clients' owned channel teams to ensure that communication strategies are effectively adopted and executed across social media, PR, eCRM, and website properties.
  • Partner with the Brand Experience Strategy Director and UX Teams to craft detailed consumer journeys for each campaign or initiative.
  • Define the communication objectives for each campaign and develop task briefs that guide messaging and execution tailored for each channel.
  • Establish measurable campaign KPIs to enhance creative effectiveness and improve the success rate of innovative ideas.
  • Analyze campaign metrics and leverage insights from data to refine communication strategies.
  • Demonstrate a deep understanding of consumer behavior within media, alongside a comprehensive knowledge of media relevant to the client's business, including TV, digital, social, experiential, print, OOH, and search.
  • Exhibit a solid grasp of both traditional and digitally-enhanced media, as well as emerging platforms and technologies.
  • Occasionally engage in new business pitches.
Qualifications You'll Bring:
  • Proven experience in communications planning and/or media planning.
  • Background in an advertising, digital, or media agency, or a combination thereof.
  • Experience with integrated advertising campaigns across multiple media channels, demonstrating their impact on brand performance.
  • Exceptional professionalism in interactions with clients and internal teams.
  • Some experience in analyzing campaign performance and an understanding of the role analytics play in measuring and selling ideas (including familiarity with Google Analytics).
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, with a proven ability to produce well-crafted documents and present ideas effectively.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented.
  • A proactive personality willing to assist with various tasks.
  • Ability to thrive under pressure and meet deadlines.
